He hasn&#8217;t built his <em>virtual machine<\/em> yet, but I am able to assist in planning.  It&#8217;s obviously a  DIY endeavour where the final product is as unique as owner because of the modularity.  <\/p>\n<p>What really intrigued me was all of the options to retrofit any and old instruments with MIDI. The Hauptwerk lists a few such <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hauptwerk.com\/support\/midi-hardware\/\" title=\"List of MIDI converter manufactures\">manufacturers<\/a>.  I found one, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eowave.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Eobody<\/a><\/strong>, that really takes it another level basically creating a great deal of modules that are compatible with all sorts of sensors sensors that can converted to MIDI for practically limitless installation purposes.  (Think accelerometer, like in a smart phone, as an instrument.)  Now I know how <a href=\"www.btmusic.com\" title=\"Official Brian Transeau\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a> had some of those prototypical <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roland.com\/products\/en\/exp\/D_BEAM.html\" title=\"D-BEAM, Products, Roland\" target=\"_blank\">Roland <strong>D-beam<\/strong><\/a> knock-offs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently discovered virtual pipe organ software, Hauptwerk, from a new coworker who is a serious pipe organ player.
